Addiction affects the whole family. We provide guidance, education, and counselling for families navigating a loved one's addiction, helping rebuild trust and establish healthy boundaries.
Addiction is not an individual's disease - it reshapes every relationship in the home. Partners become hypervigilant or enabling; children learn to hide their feelings and survive; trust erodes slowly, then all at once.
Harmony Retreat's family support programme addresses the full system, not just the person in treatment. Working with counsellors experienced in codependency, enabling behaviour, and family trauma, families learn what addiction actually is, how their responses may be perpetuating the cycle, and how to set healthy boundaries without abandoning their loved one.
Sessions are available for couples, parents, siblings, and extended family, and can run concurrently with a loved one's residential treatment or completely independently. Families often find that their own healing is the single greatest factor in their loved one's long-term recovery.

Family assessment
We meet with you to understand your loved one's addiction and how your family has been coping, whether or not they are currently in treatment with us.
Recognise the patterns
A counsellor experienced in codependency and enabling helps you see how well-meant responses may be sustaining the addiction cycle rather than ending it.
Set healthy boundaries
You learn to hold firm, healthy boundaries with your loved one without cutting them off or abandoning them during their recovery.
Sessions for your family
We arrange counselling for couples, parents, siblings or extended family, running alongside residential treatment or entirely independently of it.
